Tell the California legislature: Every Woman Counts!
When breast cancer is detected early, patients have more treatment options and a greater rate of survival. Here in California we have the Every Woman Counts program, which helps low-income women get access to early detection services.
Sadly, funding restrictions mean this program only covers 20 percent of eligible women - and the Governor has proposed $4.2 million dollars in budget cuts! Those cuts will lead to 25,000 underserved women being turned away from vital early detection services.
The Legislature has set aside $2 million for breast health initiatives - money that should be directed towards this vital program! Send a letter to your legislators now urging them to support increased funding for the Every Woman Counts program.
