The NY State Legislature and Governor have slashed funding for the Cancer Services Program by 33% since 2008 – a program that is critical to saving women's lives in New York.
The Cancer Services Program provides breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screening to under and uninsured patients – men and women. In the Deficit Reduction bill, passed in December 2009, an additional $1 million cut in funding for this vital program was be made, on top of an $8 million cut already suffered by the program in the 2009-10 budget. Now an additional cut is proposed in the SFY 2010-11 budget. That's why we need your help.
Please, write your state leaders now and tell them to protect funding for this critical program as they work to enact the 2010-2011 State budget. The women of New York cannot afford any more cuts to this life saving program. It's easy to do, just fill out the form below:
