The short explanation of this alert was:
Act Now for Cancer Patients in New York!
In New York, there is a significant difference in the coverage insurance companies provide for orally administered anti-cancer medications versus coverage for traditional intravenous treatments.
That means the out-of-pocket costs to cancer patients for an oral drug can be significantly higher than what they would pay for a traditional intravenous treatment.
Right now the Cancer Chemotherapy Equity Bill is before the New York State Legislature. This bill would require health insurance plans to provide coverage for oral cancer drugs on a basis no less favorable than the coverage provided for intravenously-administered chemotherapy.
Tell your State Legislator and Governor Paterson that you support this vital legislation. Send your letters today!
