Save women's lives in Pennsylvania!
Right now, the state is slashing funding that is critical to saving women's lives in Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania HealthyWoman Program provides life-saving early detection services to Pennsylvania's low-income and disadvantaged women. However, our leaders are considering slashing funding for this vital program – putting at risk thousands of disadvantaged Pennsylvania women. But there's something you can do.
Please, write your state legislators now and tell them to save funding for the HealthyWoman Program. It's easy – just fill out the form below:

Subject: Honor Your Commitment to Pennsylvania's Women
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
As your constituent and as someone who cares deeply about breast and cervical cancer, I am asking our state government to maintain critical funding for the "HealthyWoman Program" through the Comprehensive Cancer Program and the Act 74 of 2005.
The "HealthyWoman Program" provides free mammograms, clinical breast exams, and pap tests for under-insured and un-insured Pennsylvania women, acting as an important safety net to those in need. In these tough economic times, this program is all the more important, as more Pennsylvanians may find themselves out of work and without insurance.
As you may know, breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in U.S. women. Proposed cuts will mean that fewer than 10% of Pennsylvania's eligible women will be screened for breast cancer, leaving thousands without lifesaving early detection services. Lives of thousands of disadvantaged women will be at risk if this program is cut. But, when breast cancer is detected early, patients have more treatment options and a higher rate of survival.
I hope you will stand with me in supporting this critical funding that will help save Pennsylvania women's lives.
Sincerely,
|
