Save women's lives in Michigan!
Right now, a proposal is being considered that will slash funding that is critical to saving women's lives in Michigan.
The Healthy Michigan Fund provides life-saving early detection services to Michigan's low-income and disadvantaged women. However, our leaders are considering slashing funding for this vital program – putting at risk thousands of disadvantaged Michigan women. But there's something you can do.
Please, write your state leaders now and tell them to save funding for the Healthy Michigan Fund. It's easy – just fill out the form below:

Subject: Don't Turn Your Back on Michigan Citizens!
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
As your constituent and as someone who cares deeply about breast cancer, I am asking our state government to maintain the Healthy Michigan Fund.
The Healthy Michigan Fund provides life-saving cancer prevention programs - including free breast cancer early detection services to Michigan's low-income and disadvantaged women. In these tough economic times, this program is all the more important, as more Michigan citizens may find themselves out of work and without insurance.
The current proposal crafted by Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop and House Speaker Andy Dillon will have disastrous consequences for all of us in Michigan.
As you may know, breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in U.S. women. Proposed cuts will leave thousands without lifesaving early detection services. Countless Michigan women will be at risk if this program is cut. But, when breast cancer is detected early, patients have more treatment options and a higher rate of survival.
I hope you will stand with me in supporting this critical funding that will help save Michigan women's lives.
Sincerely,
|
