Invite your legislators to take the Challenge!
We're rallying to "Close the Gap" on September 22 - Will Your Legislators Be There? Every woman in the state should have access to life-saving breast cancer treatment. Make sure your state representatives are there to lend their support and leadership. Invite them to join you at Hard Rock Live at Universal CityWalk (R) on Saturday, September 22 at 9:00 a.m. - following the 2nd Annual Jacobson Walk for Awareness!
Dear [ Decision Maker ] , On Saturday, September 22 at 9:30 a.m., breast cancer advocates and survivors will rally to "close the gap" in access to breast cancer services at the Komen Community Challenge at Hard Rock Live at Universal City Walk (R). Will you join us? Did you know that over 12,000 women in Florida will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year? Yet less than 10 percent of low-income and uninsured women in Florida are eligible to receive quality breast cancer treatment. Regrettably, many women are being denied treatment based solely on where they were screened. This is unacceptable. We can do better in Florida. We must do better. Every woman deserves access to quality breast cancer treatment that can save her life because surviving breast cancer should not depend on where you live, the color of your skin or how much money you make. Let's get the conversation started at the Komen Community Challenge. We must expand Medicaid-covered treatment to ensure all Florida women have access to quality breast cancer treatment regardless of where they were screened. Please join the Komen Community Challenge when its cross-country road trip reaches Orlando on September 22. It's part of a year-long grassroots effort to unite legislators and communities in an effort to "Close the Gap" so all women have access to lifesaving early detection and treatment. You can lend your voice and leadership to this important effort by joining the Challenge on September 22 at 9:00 a.m. Hard Rock Live at Universal CityWalk (R). Prior to the rally, hundreds of Girl Scouts, Troop Leaders, parents and survivors will participate in the 2nd Annual Jacobson Walk for Awareness throughout Universal Studios. With your support, we'll be able to improve breast cancer treatment for Florida women. For more information please contact Ana Cruz at 813.872.7800 or acruz@leadersedgellc.com. Thank you for your time and attention. I hope to see you on September 22nd.
