As you know, the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP) is a vital program to help ensure that low-income women have access to high-quality breast and cervical cancer screening. It significantly reduces health disparities, particularly among racial and ethnic minority populations who represent approximately half of all women screened through the program.

I am truly thrilled that Congress approved the reauthorization of the program through fiscal year 2012. Screenings are so important for early detection, and early detection saves lives!
